RPL §226-c Effective October 12, 2019

Landlords are required to give written notice of an intention to renew a residential lease with a rent increase equal to or greater than 5% above the current rent, or the intention not to renew the tenancy by the following schedule:

• If tenant has occupied for less than 1 year and does not have a lease term of at least 1 year, landlord shall provide at least 30 days’ notice
• If tenant has occupied for more than 1 year, but less than 2 years, landlord shall provide at least 60 days’ notice.
• If tenant has occupied for more than 2 years or has a lease term of at least 2 years, landlord shall provide at least 90 days’ notice

It is with the deepest of sympathy and sadness that Bob Guilinello, a founding member, past president and Robert Marcus award recipient passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018.  Bobby G was a dedicated process server always striving to improve the process serving industry.  He was a friendly man who had a warm smile and laugh for all that he met.  NYSPPSA has lost a very dear friend.  Our thoughts, prayers and sympathy is with his family and friends during this most difficult time.  We love you Bobby G!!

Bobby G will be waked at Raynor & D'Aandrea Funeral Home, 245 Montauk Highway, West Sayville, NY on Saturday, 10/13/18 at 2:00-4:30pm and 7:00-9:30 pm with a chapel service at 8:00 p.m.  Cremation services are private.
